A setting powder from Hourglass, formulated to mimic the most flattering types of light.
The Review:
I purchased the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light as a setting powder for my foundation. My skintone is around NC25 to NC30 in MAC foundations, and the Hourglass shade in Diffused Light is a great match.
It’s a pressed powder formula, very finely milled and lightweight. I love it that I can use it in 2 ways – on its own or over foundation.
When applied on its own, the powder helps to reduce the shine on the skin and evens out the skintone. Everything looks more blurred, but still looks like my own skin.
When applied over foundation (I usually use a liquid formula), it sets everything in place, so I don’t need to touch up my face throughout the day. It has a semi-matte finish. It never looks powdery or overly done.
The compact has a nice mirror on the inside, but no applicator. I usually use a dense buffing brush to apply this powder.
