A universal blotting powder to achieve that filtered look on the fly, courtesy of Fenty Beauty.
The Review:
A very underrated performer from Fenty Beauty.
During the recent Fenty Beauty launches, everyone was bonkers for their products, and who can blame them? So far I’ve tried their Mattemoiselle Lipsticks and the Galaxy Palette, both are phenomenal quality. I was at my local Sephora a few weeks ago and saw this compact and decided to give it a try. Overall I feel this is the quiet achiever of the range. It doesn’t get many mentions across social media channels or blogs, but if you’ve tried it, you’ll instantly love it.
This is a universal blotting powder that absorbs shine and creates a diffused or filtered look on your skin. You can wear it on top of your usual foundation, or apply directly onto bare skin.
It lasts an incredible 8 hours on me, however I do work in an office environment. If you are quite active during the day, and require touch ups, this compact is very convenient to carry in your bag. It also has a good quality mirror inside the compact.
The Invisimatte Blotting Powder also comes with a application sponge, with the Fenty logo printed on it. Unfortunately it doesn’t work that great, but honestly I don’t think these free sponges and brushes are ever good quality. I find it best to apply with a buffing brush, such as the Kevyn Aucoin Soft Buff Brush. You want something with dense bristles, so you can really buff this onto the skin for that filtered look.
The Shades:
For reference, I have NC25 to NC30 skin. The powder looks plain white in the pan, almost like chalk. But when applied, it somehow blends into my skintone, and looks invisible. It really does what it claims – takes away the shine and produces a filtered look for your skin.
